OCC 2025 - My Setup --- On Sunday, July 13th, Old Computer Challenge starts for 2025. This year I've decided to use a Sun Ultra5 running OpenBSD. It has a 350mhz CPU (one core) and 650MB of ram. Installed on it is OpenBSD 7.7 sparc64 running the default fvwm desktop window manager. Since I'm limited by two things - 1. resources (cpu and ram) and 2. the actual ports in sparc64 repo - the browser(s) of choice will be links and dillo. Most of the other tools I use are already terminal based (vi, tmux, weechat, ssh, etc) so that won't really be too much of a change. Here's a picture of the setup:Projects then? --- I had an idea, some time ago, to transpile certain documentation to either gopher or gemini. Things like the openbsd handbook, V (vlang) documentation, things like that. This is probably still the project I will go with, but I will make no promises how much work will actually be done on it. It all boils down to available time really. Throughout the week I will try to remember to document my journey on this blog. Feel free to follow it, if it interests you. And also, feel welcome to reach out via email, contact info found in menu, if you want.
